We offer:

A traineeship of up to 4.5 months within the Operations Section Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, starting in April-May  2023.

The Communications team is part of the EU Delegation’s Operations section and reports to the Head of Cooperation. It is in charge of promoting the visibility of European Union assistance to Ukraine, including via large-scale campaigns. The team is led by the Communications coordinator and consists of three staff. In its daily work, the team works closely notably with the other sections of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Commission Headquarters, the EEAS and other EU institutions as well as Ukrainian partners.

Main tasks:

  • Support the Communications team within the Operations section with tasks including but not limited to:
  • Drafting, translation, proofreading and publication of communications content
  • Coordination support for the team’s activities
  • Back office support

Qualifications or special requirements:

Due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and very evolutive context of the COVID-19 breakthrough, applicants currently residing in Ukraine will only be considered

  • Bachelor degree in political science, international relations or other relevant field with above-average results;
  • Excellent command of Ukrainian language (spoken and written) and very good command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent command of MS 365 suite
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail and with interest towards EU-Ukraine relations
  • Command of additional applications such as Canva, Meta business suite or similar (asset)
  • First experience in international relations (asset)
  • First experience in communications (asset)
  • First experience in translation and interpretation (asset)

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must undertake to apply for a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.

The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the context of the COVID-19 in the host country as well as in the country of origin where applicable.
