We offer:

A traineeship of up to 4.5 months within the Press&Information Section Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, starting in May  2023.

The Press and Information Section of the Delegation of the EU in Ukraine is a small (6 people) but a very dynamic and strategic section in the Delegation of the EU in Ukraine.

Main tasks:

  • to assist in preparing (drafting, translating, proof-reading) press and information materials for their publication on the website and Delegation´s social media profiles;
  • to assist in administrative and organizational aspects for public events preparations across the country;
  • to coordinate activities and events organized by the section ;
  • to provide back-office support for the Section's staff (answering requests, taking notes at the meetings, preparing meetings, etc.)

Qualifications or special requirements:

Due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and very evolutive context of the COVID-19 breakthrough, applicants currently residing in Ukraine will only be considered

  • Bachelor degree in journalism and communications, political science or international relations or related field (e.g. )
  • Additional degree in another field (e.g. law)
  • Ongoing master studies in humanities
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian
  • Knowledge of an additional EU language
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office and presentation skills
  • Proficient knowledge - as proactive user - of the main social media accounts, in particular Instagram and Telegram and proven experience of work with social media texts
  • Proven interest in the EU affairs
  • Strong proofreading skills (English and Ukrainian)
  • Previous experience in simple video editing an asset
  • Independent, hard-working and attentive to details
  • Active participation in the activities of civil society or academic organizations, experience of working as volunteer

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must undertake to apply for a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.

The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the context of the COVID-19 in the host country as well as in the country of origin where applicable.
